Numbers are going back up!

It's been four months supposedly at an optimum number of 0.43. But I have been getting really tired and I am STILL not losing weight. In fact I gained five pounds during the last 6 months, making that 45 pounds since surgery. Grrrr. I haven't changed anything except my schedule, I am still taking my 225 mcg of Synthroid at night. I am just getting up earlier in the morning than I was all summer (school year). I am now up to a 2.68, and want to go back down again.

If anyone out there has any idea why this is happening, or has had it happen to them, please respond. Thank you!

I just found this blog, so I don't know if you mention you've taken other medication further back in entries, BUT...

I went through a vicious cycle of Synthroid, Armour, and some T3/T4 concoction. My metabolism was stuck throughout all of this.

Within the last 6 months, I switched to a more easily tweaked dosage of Levoxyl and I have dropped the weight like nobody's business. I have, if anything, even be eating worse, and have not exercised in quite awhile. I also feel the most energetic I have in awhile!

Thank you for responding! Isn't Levoxyl generic Synthroid anyway?

I've only taken Synthroid I take 225 mcg a day. You give me hope, I want to drop the extra 45 I've gained since surgery... What dosage of Levoxyl are you on? My endocrinologist told my primary that I need to change my outlook? Kind of insulting I think, as you know this is a true concern.

I take 224 mcg Levoxyl every evening before bed ( 2 ea 112 mcg at one co-pay-my doctor is pretty smart) and have been for 8 years now. My weight is a struggle but I manage to stay about 10-20 lbs overweight all the time. Summer is better as I am more active. I feel about the same as I did with the cancer laden thyroid. I gained about 35 lbs after surgery and felt bad. I took up a regular exercise program and watched my eating habits and lost 23 lbs in 6 months, the rest has taken another 6 months and now I workout to maintain this weight. I can not get to my target of 195 to save my life. I like to eat too much I guess.

Your doctor is smart I wonder if my doctor will split mine like that now so I only have to pay one copayment. I hope you are feeling active now. I am exercising a lot lot more now and have finally lost some weight! Yay! The 250 mcg of synthroid is working for me now. I can't believe it has taken two years to get straightened out!
